The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has been rejected during the pre-qualification round for acquiring two nationwide telecommunications licences in Myanmar. According to Myanmar’s Telecommunications Operator Tender Evaluation and Selection Committee, only 12 of the 22 applicants have been prequalified to submit their bids. PLDT, through its parent company, First Pacific Company Limited, had been in negotiations with foreign partners to join in the bidding for the two licences.
