The Government of Malaysia has announced plans to upgrade nine Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) stations in the Klang Valley and to build a new station, Seremban Sentral Station. The upgradation and construction of stations is expected to cost RM280 million of which the new station will be constructed at RM170 million. The project will be completed by 2026.

Further, the upgradation of the stations will be done under the Klang Valley Double Tracking Phase 2 (KVDT2) project. The stations which will be upgraded are KTMB Salak Selatan, Bangi, Pantai Dalam, Seri Setia, Batu Tiga, Padang Java, Klang, Jalan Kastam and Port Klang.

Moreover, as of January 2024, the KVDT Phase 1 project is 97 per cent completed and is expected to be fully completed by the end of April 2024.
