The projects are expected to cost USD36.6 billion for which the government is seeking financial assistance through public-private partnerships (PPPs) and foreign funding resources.

The CIT-MP will consist of 94 road infrastructure projects, eight railway infrastructure projects, 43 river and marine infrastructure projects, and 10 air infrastructure projects while the remaining 19 are logistics and other projects.

Among the planned projects is the USD1.7 billion Funan Techo Canal project on which works are scheduled to commence at the end of 2024.
