The Government of Vietnam has announced plans to construct a USD2.2 billion motorway to link Pleiku in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai with the port city of Quy Nhon. The project is set to be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP).

The Provincial governments have suggested a new 143-km-long four-lane highway to be built between 2025 and 2030, primarily funded by the state. The motorway is expected to boost regional economic growth and connect to north-south motorways and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia development triangle.
