Singtel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) to develop a new subsea cable system, INSICA (Indonesia Singapore Cable System), connecting Singapore and Batam, Indonesia.
The two companies outline the construction of the 100 km submarine cable, which is scheduled to go live in Q4 2026. The cable will feature 24 fibre pairs and two diverse terrestrial cable paths, with each fibre pair offering a maximum capacity of up to 20 terabits per second. The INSICA cable aims to enhance connectivity between Singapore and Batam.
