Authorities in Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang province, are fast-tracking major infrastructure projects to support the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2027, while simultaneously advancing land clearance, resettlement, and livelihood transition measures for affected residents. The local government is prioritising transparency and compliance through land-origin verification and accelerated compensation processes.
Several large-scale resettlement areas are being developed to enable timely site clearance. These include the An Thoi resettlement area (23.87 ha, 200 plots, VND1.6 trillion), Cua Can (98.2 ha, 3,620 plots, VND1.65 trillion), Ho Suoi Lon (30.15 ha, over 690 plots, VND1.3 trillion), and Ham Ninh (102.85 ha, 3,055 plots, VND 1.2 trillion). Land-use conversion procedures and contractor selection have largely been completed, with construction preparations underway despite challenges related to forest land and household coordination.
