The Government of the Philippines is seeking restoration of PHP1.756 billion in proposed 2027 funding for the EDSA Busway system after the project received no allocation in the Department of Budget and Management’s proposed budget. The busway serves around 63 million passengers annually.
The Department of Transportation is also rehabilitating busway stations at Bagong Barrio, Balintawak and Guadalupe, while new stations are planned at Cubao, Magallanes and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange. Funding is required for station upgrades, elevators, passenger amenities, cleanliness and security.
