The Philippines government is planning to auction two waterworks infrastructure contracts, worth PhP 43 billion, in June 2014, under its PPP programme. The two projects are:

  • Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project (PhP 24.4 billion), involving a 30-year contract to build and operate facilities for treated bulk water in Bulacan province, north of Manila; and
  • New Centennial Water Project (PhP 18.7 billion), entailing the construction of a dam northeast of Manila to ensure water security.

The invitation to bid for the water projects will be published soon, with the bidding open to both local and foreign firms. The contracts are likely to be awarded in the first half of 2014.
