The national government plans to spend PHP 1.89 billion on the completion and rehabilitation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. The purpose of the project is to reduce the congestion NAIA Terminal 1 and ensure operational efficiency of both NAIA 1 and 3 terminals. The Department of Budget and Management will release the funds to DOTC. The Philippines government earlier signed an MoU with Takenaka Corporation to implement the completion, renovation, and upgrading of the terminal. The civil works agreement, a part of the MU, includes the development of a flight information display system, a baggage handling and reconciliation system, a fire alarm and protection system, and passenger loading bridges, among others.
