The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Philippines has completed road upgrades in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, to improve safety and efficiency. The works included reconstructing a 522-metre-long section of the Guimaras Circumferential Road and paving a 480-metre-long farm-to-market road (FMR). The upgraded section features four lanes and has been raised to prevent flooding. The total cost for these improvements was PHP32 million pesos for the circumferential road and PHP12 million for the FMR.
In addition, the DPWH completed local road projects in Mati City and Lupon, Davao Oriental Province, to improve rural access. These projects are being developed at a total cost of PHP34.12 million include a 640-metre-long two-lane road in Barangay Tamisan and an 800-metre-long FMR in Lupon, to support agriculture and provide easier access to essential services.
