The Department of Transportation (DOTr) in the Philippines has announced plans to invest PHP2.595 billion in 2025 to fund the expansion of bike lanes and improve existing cycling infrastructure. The plan includes the establishment of at least 260 km of new bike lanes in 2025, to reach 2,400 km by 2028.
The budget will also support the installation of end-of-trip facilities, such as bike racks or parking areas, to enhance convenience for cyclists. Additionally, this initiative aligns with the National Transport Policy and the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
