The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has secured loans totalling PHP244.9 billion from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support key transport infrastructure projects in the Philippines. These projects include the modernisation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the North-South Commuter Railway System, Metro Rail Transit Line 4, and various others across the country.
The loans from ADB will facilitate the acceleration of these projects, which are vital for improving transportation infrastructure and connectivity in the country. With investments focusing on the transport sector, the ADB aims to bridge the country’s infrastructure gap and contribute to its economic development.
