The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has allocated PHP242 million for detailed studies on improving public transport in Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, La Union, and Zamboanga in the Philippines. The agency is seeking consultancy services for pre-investment studies in these regions, with investments of PHP61.92 million for Bohol, PHP61.23 million for Cagayan de Oro, PHP59.12 million for La Union, and PHP60.04 million for Zamboanga.

Interested companies can obtain eligibility documents from the DOTr until June 24, 2024, and shortlisted participants will compete for the consultancy contracts. The winning bidders will have up to 240 days to complete their studies.

Moreover, DOTr is also advancing bus rapid transit (BRT) systems in Cebu and Davao. The Cebu BRT will cover 13.18 km with 17 stops, meanwhile, the Davao Transport Modernisation Project will develop over 600 km of road networks, enhancing bus services and traffic flow in these areas.
