The Department of Energy (DoE) of the Philippines, under its green energy auction program (GEAP), is set to offer around 2,00 MW of renewable energy (RE) capacity projects on June 17, 2022. This includes 1,260MW of solar for the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao grids, 130 MW of hydropower capacities for the Luzon and Mindanao grids, 380MW of wind developments for the Luzon and Visayas grids and 230 MW of biomass.

Qualified bidders will be announced on May 31, 2022

The winning bidder will be supplying RE under a 20-year contract. Delivery of contracted facilities will begin on December 26, 2022, and end on December 25, 2025.

The RE capacities auctioned in this exercise are in line with the Government of Philippines’ Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).
