The Philippines’ Department of Energy has granted approval to contracts of the Basic Energy Corporation for development of four small-hydro power (SHP) projects in Negros Occidental. The scope of the contracts includes construction, installation, operation and maintenance of the 2 MW Puntian 1, 2 MW Puntian 2, 3 MW Laogo 2 and 2 MW Talabaan SHP projects. The agreement provides Basic Energy a two-year, non-extendable period to undertake pre-development works.
