The government expects to bid out Phase II of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) expressway project during the first half of 2013. The PhP 15.52 billion project will link the three terminals of the NAIA, as well as connect them to the Entertainment City along Roxas Boulevard. The government had postponed the bidding from June 2012 to 2013 in order to give interested parties time to finalise their bids. Around thirteen companies including Ayala Corporation, San Miguel Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, DM Consunji, EEI Corporation, Megawide Construction Corporation, Macquarie Capital Securities, and EGIS Projects have shown interest in the project. Approved by NEDA in May 2012, the project involves the development of a four-lane elevated expressway with a total length of 7.15 km. Construction is expected to take two years, with operations scheduled to start in 2016.
