The PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation has taken over Phase I of the Nam Con Son 2 gas pipeline. The pipeline will supply more than 7 billion cubic metres of gas for household users in the south-eastern provinces of Vietnam. Work on the Nam Con Son 2 pipeline project started in 2013 with two phases. In the first phase, a 151 km long pipeline worth 8.46 trillion dong ($402 million) was built to link the Thien Ung gas pipeline and Platform BK4A and to collect surplus gas from the Dai Hung gas field. The Nam Con Son 2 pipeline project will support oil and gas exploration and exploitation in the Nam Con Son basin, and gas exports.
