PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), a natural gas transportation and distribution company and PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) have agreed an internal agreement to oversee the development of LNG bunkering facilities. PIS’s five new-build support vessels will also be retrofitted to run on LNG instead of traditional marine fuels. Details about the timeline of the pilot project have not been disclosed.

The deal is part of Indonesia’s energy transformation plan, which aims for the adoption of more eco-green vessels. Indonesia joins Malaysia and Singapore as countries that have invested in LNG bunkering infrastructure.
