Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), through its subsidiary Petronas Andaman III Indonesia BV, has acquired a 49 per cent participating stake in the Andaman III block located off-coast Aceh, Indonesia, from Talisman Andaman BV, a subsidiary of Repsol SA. The Andaman III block covers an area of approximately 8,517 square km and is located in deep water of up to 1,300 metres in the North Sumatra basin area.
