Pestech International Bhd (Pestech) and Hydrogene de France SA (HDF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly explore potential for green hydrogen projects in Southeast Asia. The MoU will be in effect for three years, and the partners may agree to extend it.
The partners will initially focus on hydrogen production from hydroelectric plants in Cambodia and Malaysia.
HDF Energy will lead project development scopes and sizing while Pestech will act as local market liaison and coordinator in synergies with its partner. Pestech will also be given the first right of refusal when it comes to the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning works of each project. This right will depend on bankability criteria set to be confirmed by international and local lenders at a later stage.
