A consortium of Pertamina, Marubeni and Sojitz has secured a $2 billion contract for the 1,600 MW Java-1 gas-fired power plant, which will be located in West Java and will integrate with a floating storage and regasification unit. PLN estimates that the power plant will need 250 million cubic feet per day of gas. The project is expected to be operationalised in 2019.
