PT Pertamina, a state-owned oil and gas company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan-based Chiyoda to jointly study the development and application potential of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technology in Indonesia.

The partners will provide emission reduction solutions through developing new and renewable energy (NRE) sources and provide CCUS technology application studies. The companies will support the Government of Indonesia’s aim of achieving net-zero emissions and promote climate goals.
