Petronas Carigali Sendirian Berhad (PCSB) and Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia (HEPM) have awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Samsung Engineering for the Terengganu Gas Terminal (TGAST) Development Project. PCSB and HEPM hold 75 per cent and 25 per cent stake in TGAST, respectively. With an estimated value of $770 million, the project that will be built at Kerteh in the Terengganu region is expected to reduce impurities such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide from natural gas on a large scale of 700 million cubic feet per day. The project is likely to be commissioned in 2016.
