The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has announced that passenger footfall at Singapore’s Changi Airport has more than doubled that recorded in March 2022, reaching about 40 per cent of pre-pandemic volumes during April 2022.  The agency expects this number to increase further in the upcoming months as travel restrictions have been lifted and flight frequency is increased.

Most of the increase in passengers is attributed to the full reopening of Singapore’s borders to all fully vaccinated travellers under the Vaccinated Travel Framework. This is expected to support Changi Airport Group’s (CAG) aim of restoring passenger traffic at the airport to at least 50 per cent of its pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2022.
