The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has scrapped plans to commence partial operation on the Metro Manila Subway’s Valenzuela, Tandang Sora, and North Avenue stations in 2027. The agency now intends to commission all 17 stations in 2029.
As of July 2023, work on the project is 33 per cent completed. Full completion of construction is scheduled for 2028.
Once operational, the 33-km underground line is expected to transport around 519,000 passengers daily.
