Pacifico Energy Vietnam has secured approval from Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for a sea survey licence for the up to 1,300 MW Nam Trung Bo 3 offshore wind project in Lam Dong Province. The project is included in the country’s adjusted Power Development Plan VIII and is targeted for commercial operations between 2031 and 2035.
The licence enables technical and environmental studies to establish the project design basis and support subsequent investment and permitting activities. Pacifico Energy plans to conduct geotechnical and geophysical surveys, wind measurements, meteorological and oceanographic studies and environmental assessments across the approved offshore area in 2027. The project forms part of Pacifico Energy’s 1.8 GW offshore wind development pipeline in Vietnam, alongside the 500 MW Nam Bo PE2.1 project.
