Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance, will spend approximately RM920 million to improve the current wastewater treatment facilities in Pahang, Malaysia.  The agency will partner with Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP) to build new water treatment plants, upgrade existing plants and replace old pipes.

The three new facilities will be located in Kuantan, Temerloh and Rompin. The new plants are expected to be operational by 2026-27 while upgrade and modernisation works on existing wastewater treatment facilities is scheduled to be completed in 2023-24.

This project is part of the National Water Services Commission’s (SPAN) water restructuring package. The restructuring plan will focus on increasing Pahang’s treated water supply capacity, which was currently insufficient to meet local consumer demands.
