Osaka Gas Singapore Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Osaka Gas Company Limited, Sojitz Corporation and Sojitz Vietnam Company Limited have reached an agreement to establish a JV, Sojitz Osaka Gas Energy Company Limited, to supply natural gas in Vietnam. The new company plans to start supplying natural gas to Phu My 3 Specialised Industrial Park in the southern Vietnamese province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and then expand its business to other industrial parks and end users. The demand for energy continues to increase in Vietnam with rapid economic development. Sojitz Osaka aims to help Vietnam promote a shift to clean energy away from heavy oil. While Sojitz Corporation and Sojitiz Vietnam Company Limited will have 26 per cent and 25 per cent shares respectively, Osaka Gas Singapore Private Limited will have a 49 per cent share.
