The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is aiming to deploy solar energy to power almost 3,000 additional households in various off-grid locations in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) in the Philippines. The organisation is also expanding its flagship project TESDA Alay ay Liwanag at Asenso (Project TALA) to distant and marginalised communities across the region.
Under Project TALA, which extends the supply solar energy to geographically distant communities where normal power distribution lines have not yet reached, has picked Sitios Blit and Dalhag as pilot regions for the project.
