Nusantara Power and Masdar to triple floating solar plant capacity in Java

PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) has partnered with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) to work on the second phase of the Cirata floating photovoltaic (FPV) power plant in Indonesia. This phase will add around 500 MW of renewable capacity to the facility which is located on the Cirata reservoir in West Java.

This was possible after the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) recently allowed up to 20 per cent of water coverage for renewable energy uses.

Meanwhile, the first phase covering 145 MW of capacity will come online by the end of 2023. Development under the initial phase was also overseen by PLN NP and Masadar.
