The Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB), a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), has completed the installation of eight horizontal capacitors at the 220 kV transformer station in the Northern region.
This was carried out under the project – Installation of power transmission grid capacitors in the Northern Region in 2024, which is a Level II, Group B energy project. It aimed to install horizontal capacitors in seven provinces/cities, which are major load centres, with an investment of VND190 billion. It included seven 110 kV, 50 MVAr horizontal capacitor banks and equipment to complete feeders at the 220 kV Long Bien, Quang Chau, Kim Dong, Yen My, Thanh Nghi, Bac Ninh 3, Vinh Tuong substations and one horizontal capacitor bank of 110 kV, 25 MVAr capacity and equipment to complete the feeder at the 220 kV Hai Ha substation.
