Novatek has announced plans to expand its liquefied natural gas (LNG) cooperation and investment footprint in Vietnam, signalling deeper bilateral energy ties between the two countries.

Novatek is exploring participation in Vietnam’s growing LNG market, including potential involvement in projects such as the Ca Na LNG terminal, alongside partners like Zarubezhneft. The company is also assessing opportunities in LNG storage facilities, LNG-fired power plants, and long-term supply agreements.

Vietnam’s rapidly growing energy demand and transition strategy are creating opportunities for international players, particularly in LNG infrastructure and cleaner power generation. Novatek’s potential expansion aligns with Vietnam’s efforts to enhance energy security while modernising its energy mix.
