NLEX Corporation, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, is investing at least PHP2 billion to reduce traffic congestion on Quezon City’s Mindanao Avenue. The work on a 2 km highway segment connecting the present Mindanao Avenue toll plaza and the Quirino Highway will begin soon. The project is part of the 11.5 km NLEX C-5 Link. The entire NLEX C-5 Link project is estimated to benefit 45,000 motorists each day, cutting travel time between Mindanao Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue from 45 minutes to 10 minutes.

The highway extension is being constructed as part of the Government of Philippines’ Build Build Build programme, and it is intended to contribute to the government’s economic stimulus project.
