NLEX Corporation, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, is investing PhP 7.7 billion for road enhancements to help improve traffic in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The projects include new interchanges, bridges and expressway lanes. Among these is the 2.6 km North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) harbor link segment from C3 Road, Caloocan City, to Radial Road 10 in Navotas City, which is scheduled to be completed by December 2019. The company is also expanding the Subic Freeport Expressway by developing two additional expressway lanes, two new bridges at Jadjad and Argonaut, and a tunnel to serve the growing number of vehicles travelling to and from the Subic Bay Freeport. The construction activities in the area also include road raising and flood control works along the Maritan Highway-Rizal Highway-Tipo junction. Improvement projects are also being undertaken in Bulacan province. The 600 metre NLEX Balagtas north-bound entry is almost complete and will be opened to commuters soon. The new artery will provide direct access to commuters from the Balagtas Interchange going to NLEX northbound.
