The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has allocated a budget of PhP 602 million to boost the transmission network in Cebu. The project is a part of the NGCP’s 2012 Transmission Development Plan that has already been approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The NGCP expects to complete the project by end-2014. Earlier, in late 2012, the NGCP initiated the construction of a 138 kV transmission line to connect two of its substations in Cebu Colon and Calung-Calung.
