Newin Sinsiri has been appointed as the new Country Director for Asian Development Bank (ADB) operations in Myanmar. This will be Sinsiri’s second stint with the bank. Earlier, he had joined ADB in 1998 and had held several leadership positions. He has extensive experience working in Southeast Asia, South Asia and East Asia in the areas of regional cooperation, finance sector development, infrastructure development and capacity building. In his current role, he will lead and supervise the effective implementation of ADB’s country partnership strategy which aims to help Myanmar achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth by ensuring job creation, reduce poverty, strengthen human capital, and promote reforms. Sinsiri holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) degree from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology in Lardkrabang.
