The sixth and seventh trains for Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) Metro Line No. 1 have arrived at Khanh Hoi port. The metro carriages will be transported to the Long Binh depot for assembly. The first train arrived in HCMC in October 2020 and seven trains have been received since then.

Each of the trains has a capacity of up to 930 passengers and has 147 seats. The 19.7 km line No. 1 is the first of at least six planned to relieve traffic congestion near HCMC’s north-eastern entryway. The project is designed to include 14 stations, three of which are underground, and includes four major bidding packages employing official development aid (ODA) and funds from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
