Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) expects the delivery of 10 Generation-4 (Gen-4) train sets during 2023 for use on Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension in the Philippines. The new generation light rail vehicles (LRVs) will be deployed for passenger services starting January 2024.

Out of the 30 train sets ordered, 20 have been delivered and are undergoing test and trial in Manila. Each vehicle is required to complete 1,000 km during the trials before being accepted by the grantors and the eventual handover to LRMC for commercial use.

The LRVs can accommodate over 1,300 passengers per trip and has a maximum design operational speed of 70 km/hr. In addition to being used on the LRT-1 Cavite Extension lines, the vehicles will also be deployed on existing lines in Manila. Further details have not been released.
