The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board has approved nearly PHP9 trillion worth of infrastructure projects in the Philippines. Most of the 194 projects that have been cleared are in the transport, water resources, digital connectivity, power and energy sector among others.

Some of the main transport projects include the rehabilitation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the North Long-Haul Railway, the Metro Cebu Expressway, Panay Railway Project, Mindanao Railway Project III as well as the San Mateo Railway.

Of the 194 projects, works on 95 are ongoing, 47 are in the planning stage, 44 are under the pre-planning process while the remaining eight have secured government approval. Funding for all of these will be prioritised under the government’s annual budget as well as other sources including Official development assistance (ODA) and public-private partnerships (PPA).
