MYBiomass Sendirian Berhad, a special-purpose vehicle formed under the Malaysian Industry–Government Group for High Technology, is planning to collaborate with Sime Darby Berhad and Felda Global Ventures Berhad to commence production at its industrial biorefinery in Johor by the end of 2016. Construction works are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2014. The facility, with a required investment of RM 300–RM 400 million will have an estimated capacity of 60,000 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). Further, it will process 20 per cent of biomass waste into various products.
