Myanmar Railways is planning to hire consultants to supervise the $700 million Yoma Central project. Yoma Strategic Holdings is currently leading the consortium behind the project. On September 23, 2019, the state enterprise had issued a call for expressions of interest (EoIs) from Myanmar as well as foreign project assurance services companies to monitor the validity and viability of the projects in terms of progress to date and prediction of project outcome. The deadline to submit the EoIs was October 28, 2019. The company hired to monitor the project will provide assistance to a project management unit and project assurance committee set up by Myanmar Railways.
