Myanmar’s 225 MW Myingyan gas-fired power plant has received a $20 million loan from China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) (co-financed with other lenders). The project will be the largest gas-fired independent power plant in Myanmar and will help ease the country’s severe power deficit and contribute to the core directive of the AIIB, which aims to support green and cost-effective infrastructure in its member countries.
