The Myanmar government has invited investment proposals from local and overseas companies to provide nationwide telecommunication services. Meanwhile, Thailand-based Advanced Info Service plans to expand its telecommunications business by providing mobile infrastructure and telecommunication-related services. The company is preparing to propose potential investment projects to the Myanmar government in February 2013. Licences will be offered to selected operators by June 2013.
