PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Perum Jasa Tirta II (PJT II) to explore renewable energy (RE) possibilities in Indonesia. The collaboration aims to conduct a feasibility study for solar power plants (PLTS) and hydropower plants (PLTA) to power Chandra Asri Group’s Chlor-Alkali and Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) plant.

The CA-EDC plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of more than 400,000 tons of Caustic Soda and 500,000 tons of Ethylene Dichloride. The plant will generate a total capacity of 340 MW.

The construction of the CA-EDC plant aligns with Indonesia’s efforts to participate in the global electric vehicle supply chain. Through this partnership, the companies aim to contribute to the country’s goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 while creating new opportunities in the RE sector.
