The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is seeking foreign loans to finance the construction of two upcoming bridges in the provinces of Pattalung and Krabi in Thailand. The first bridge will be located over the Songkhla Lake and will connect Songkhla and Pattalung provinces and is expected to cost around THB4.8 billion. Meanwhile, the second bridge in Krabi will connect Koh Lanta to the Koh Klang district and about THB1.8 billion is required to complete the project.

The Rural Road Department (DRR) has revealed that while foreign loans will be a key financing source for both the projects, support is also expected from the 2023 government budget. Work on both the planned bridges is expected to commence by the end of 2023 and is scheduled to be open to traffic by 2026.
