Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC) deployed five new electric jeepneys in Bacolod City, completing a 10-unit fleet serving the Fortune Towne–Central Market loop. The units were delivered by the China- and Korea-based firm e-Future Motors Philippines under a rent-to-own agreement signed in 2023. These e-jeepneys are part of the transport modernisation program supported by local officials and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, which granted CPMPC 60 franchises in total.

Mayor Alfredo Benitez reaffirmed support for the program by pledging more charging stations across the city. The CPMPC and e-Future Motors both highlighted the environmental and operational benefits of the electric units, with plans to expand routes and complete the remaining franchises. The initiative marks another step in Bacolod’s transition to more sustainable public transportation.
