Mitsui O.SK. Lines (MOL) has launched Brassavola, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker vessel in the Port of Singapore. The vessel was chartered by Pavilion Energy and is set to undergo sea and gas trials in 2022. The bunker vessel has a capacity of 12,000 cubic metres and construction of the ship was contracted to Sembcorp Marine.

The bunkering vessel, which is 112 metres long and 22 metres wide, is powered by dual-fuel engines that run on LNG or marine diesel oil. It includes two GTT Mark III Flex membrane tanks with reduced internal pressure, temperature, and boil-off rate. As a result, tank longevity is improved, fuel transfer procedures are safer, and cargo loss due to evaporation is reduced.

Upon delivery, the Brassavola will be shared with TotalEnergies Marine Fuels.
