Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has bagged the 977 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant contract from the Khanom Electricity Generating Company. The project site is located in Khanom district. The entire output will be supplied to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The plant is expected to be commissioned by June 2016. It will consist of two units, each with a 488.5 MW generation capacity. The plant will run on dual fuel – natural gas and diesel. It will deploy two gas turbines, two steam turbines, and two generators.
