The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has awarded the PHP9 billion rolling stock contract to Japan-based Mitsubishi Corporation for the supply of airport express trains for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) line in the Philippines. 

Under the Contract Package (CP) NS-03, Mitsubishi, in collaboration with Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF),  will deliver the rolling stock for the Malolos-Clark Railway Project, the northern and southern sections of the NSCR, as well as the South Commuter Railway Project.

The 147-km-long NSCR will cover three regions in Luzon and link New Clark City with Calamba. The line is expected to commence operations by 2028.
