Mitsubishi Power has received an order to upgrade the Makban geothermal power plant in Laguna, Philippines. Mitsubishi Power will adopt the latest geothermal steam supply available at the power station to supply a new set of steam turbine components with optimum design for one of the 10 geothermal power generating units. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2021. The Makban geothermal power plant is located southeast of Manila and is owned and operated by AP Renewables Incorporation. Mitsubishi Power delivered the first geothermal power generating unit to the facility in 1979 with nine other units progressively installed over the next two decades.
